Boswellia serrata grows in India and thrives in dry areas.

Description

Boswellia serrata grows as a small, strong branched evergreen tree, it grows to a height of between 4 to 5 m. The bark is papery. The green leaves are unpaired and feathery. The soft leaflets are whole or slotted. The small androgynous star-shaped blossoms are 5 folded. The 5 petals are white, green-white, yellow or rose coloured.  There are 2 circles each with 5 leaves. It blooms mostly in April and forms a 3 sided fruit.
